Love, Marriage and Life! Cheers!

The day came and went. Just like the two years have passed in a jiffy.
Married for 2 years and I still can’t believe it. I think it’s good in a way, as there have been a few years in the past that dragged and I wanted those mundane days to end. This, right now, feels OK, Good!Β The so called “family-life” has begun and some instances make us realise that, all over again.
Like cancellation of a trip due to ill-health of a family member, putting the family before you and ‘adjusting’ your own personal plans.

The day started with KS’ cousins giving us a surprise right in the morning. These wonderful kids came home with flowers, a cake , munchies et al. We were all sleepy eyed and in between our morning routine work, when the door bell rang! Arrival of the kids lifted up the mood ever-so-slightly, and marked the day in some way!

Soon the day began in full swing with office goers rushing out for office, maids coming in and Pitaji calling for assistance with his chores. In between the mood-swings and a day that was almost turning out be a regular one, we thought let’s at least do something to mark the day!

We decided to go out for dinner, just KS and I. We finalised the venue and waited for the evening to come.

KS and I have always celebrated our special moments together, like really “together”. We have numerous memories of celebrating our occassions by spending time solely in each other’s company. Before marriage we used to meet up for full days and celebrate, and since marriage we have been making trips so that we “mark” our days, our way! But yesterday turned out to be quite different. Since morning we hardly got time to even see each other peacefully, forget talking! On top of that, for the first time, I decided to go to the office and not take a leave, as KS was also hardly available to “me” for the “day”. I got this unknown feeling of something ‘not’ being right. It was our day after all, and it couldn’t just pass byΒ like that. But then, it was.

We could not really help the situation, and just to lift up the mood, I wanted to surprise KS with something, like the last time (and our first πŸ™‚ ). I don’t remember giving many flowers / bouquets to KS and since they almost always bring a smile on the receiver’s face, I looked up a local florist online who could deliver on the same day and arranged for one! The flowers got delivered early in the evening, and was received with mixed reactions. The reaction is another story for another day!

Finally the evening came, we got ready. I put my foot down and thought of making the best of the outing, so dressed up and wore a saree! πŸ™‚
We reached Jai Mahal Palace and the sheer royalty greeted us! The whole property was wonderfully lit up and it was magical, the mood shifted for the good almost immediately! Out of their many restaurants, we chose Cinnamon, which is an Indian speciality restaurant. It serves Rajasthani, Hyderabadi, Kashmiri and Awadhi cuisines. We picked our favourites from the menu and in the meanwhile clicked away to glory!

It is a cozy little restaurant with lots of cushions and is dimly, but not poorly lit. A candle on each table and pretty cutlery was just apt for me to call it purr-fect!

After our meal, we strolled outside too, it was breezy and we needed a walk after all that food. It’s always nice to stroll with KS.
Very soon, it was time to call it a day and we headed back home.

I am glad we did what we did and the day didn’t end as bad as I thought it might!

My dearest husband, with all the life’s ups and downs, you are the only one thing in my life that I can count on to be real. Words can’t describe your importance and necessity in my life. I am so proud to have you, and like you said yesterday, whatever the future may bring our way, it’ll be wonderful because we’ll be together! Cheers to the life we vowed to spend together!
=)

Cheers!
